Rest in Jesus

So yesterday Jayden and Reef were in the spa laughing and having fun when Zachary starts to try to climb up the steps to see the boys in the spa.Now mind you even if he got to the top of the spa steps he wouldn’t have been able to pull himself in. So after attempting the first step which he doesn’t quite make, he looks up at me and starts to cry. It’s obvious to me he feels like he’s missing out and wants to go into the spa. So I proceed to pick him up and take him closer to the spa so he can dip his toes in. At first he’s elated. He gets to see and play with his big brothers. He smiled and laughed for a minute, but then the reality of where he was hit him. He looked down and saw the bubbly spa water and pulled his feet up and his grip around my arm tightened. That natural instinct of caution and fear set in. He knew one thing and that was that he was safe in my arms, as long as I was holding him and even though I gently encouraged him to dip his toes in again, he still retracted them and sat comfortably with his feet above the water. I feel like this is such a crazy but true example of our relationship with God sometimes. There is something we hear, see or maybe it’s a tugging on our heart from the Lord to act on. We know it’s good and especially when it’s from Him it’s even better. We try to climb the steps to see, but we either find it too difficult or we get scared and give up. We then then turn to God knowing HE knows we desire to be in that place. Just as I instinctively knew what Zachary wanted, our incredible Abba Father picks us up no matter where we are, how far we have fallen and desires to show us the way. Yet in His strong, comforting and loving grip we retract our feet and sometimes sit still in fear or defeat. We allow this to stop us from experiencing all that He has in store for us. We barely allow our toes to sink into the beautiful warm water of His abundance. The truth is that our loving Father will NEVER let us go and will ALWAYS be there, He will ALWAYS hold us tightly.

The choice is ours on whether to let our feet down into the warm water or not. When we do, we have the potential to experience a life the Lord desires for us.

No matter the circumstance, KNOWING we are always held and protected by Him gives us the opportunity to live with a fearlessness to shine for Jesus, live in the abundance He desires for us and walk with Kingdom eyes.

Darling friend, YOU were created for so much more. I can’t sit here and not encourage you with everything I have to TRUST in the strong grip the Father has on you. Put your feet in the water with the faith of a mustard seed KNOWING that God has you EVERY single step of the way, soak in Him, His love and comfort and see what He does. It’s so much better then we can fathom.
